Relationship in the Search: creating non-transactional relationships for better understanding

This seminar focuses on developing a deeper, non-transactional partnership with your dog in the context of Nosework.  We’ll explore how shifting away from outcome-driven interactions allows for clearer communication, greater trust, and more honest information from the dog.

Through discussion and working the dog in front of us, we’ll look at listening to the dog without urgency, supporting independence while staying connected, and understanding how your dog is searching, not just what they find.

Who it’s for: Designed for handlers who want more than performance, this day is about creating thoughtful, collaborative searches rooted in understanding and trust.

*CNWI’s 5 CEUs APPROVED

Sunday, November 22nd, 9 am – 5 pm

Teaching Search Logic: Developing Dog-Driven Patterns

This seminar focuses on using thoughtful expectations and intentional hide placement to teach dogs how to naturally pattern containers and vehicles in the absence of odor.  This gives them confidence when odor is not available.

We’ll look at how to create setups that direct the dog toward effective, consistent patterns; how patterning develops over time, and how over-handling can interrupt the very skills we’re trying to build.

Who it’s for: Handlers who want consistency in vehicles and containers through a predictable fashion and a non-handler-imposed pattern searching.
