This league is for Canine Country Academy students who want to get out with their dog more on walks at local Gwinnett County Parks. We will provide the planning, organizing, and accountability to reach the goals of being more active with your dog in a fun way with other dog lovers.
***The League is complimentary for all of our students who would be appropriate for this activity.***
One of our instructors (or a qualified student) will host each walk, providing you with the date, time, location, what to expect, and the walk’s distance.
Dogs must be comfortable enough around new people and dogs, as well as park environments. If you are unsure if your dog would be appropriate for an outing, please discuss with your instructor.
The League will commit to 4 walks offered monthly at a minimum. Of these walks, two will be on the weekend and two during the week. You can sign up for one or more walks per your interests and availability. The schedule will be posted in a private Facebook group AND HERE.

August Walking Schedule
Tuesday, August 4th at 8 am – Harbins Park (Multi purpose/Football Field), 2550 Indian Shoals Road, Dacula
This is a paved walking path that is pretty easy and flat. It will be a shorter walk or multiple laps. We will meet by the playground.
Monday, August 10th at 8 am – Freeman’s Mill Park, 1401 Alcovy Rd SE, Lawrenceville, GA 30045
A very small, easy, short walk with mild elevation. We can make multiple laps for those interested.
Tuesday, August 18th at 8 am – Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center, 2020 Clean Water Dr, Buford, GA 30519
This is an out-and-back walk mostly paved. It will likely be 2 to 3 miles.
Saturday, August 22nd at 6 pm – Rhodes Jordan Park, 100 East Crogan Street, Lawrenceville
This is a very flat loop around the pond for 1 mile.
Sunday, August 23rd at 8 am – Tribble Mill Park, 2125 Tribble Mill Pkwy SE, Lawrenceville, GA 30045
This is a paved walking trail that is about 3 miles around the water. There is a slight elevation. We will meet by the playground at the Ozora Meadow area (the first parking lot once you turn into the Ozora area).
Sunday, August 30th at 8 am – Alexander Park, 800 Old Snellville Highway, Lawrenceville
This is a paved walking path with some mild elevation. It is a busy park no matter the time of day (dogs, people, bikes, kids). The walk will be about 2 miles. We will meet by the bathroom/playground area closest to the Old Snellville entrance. This is a BIG park, so be sure you use the listed address.
