How old does my puppy need to be for the board and train program?
Puppies must be 7 months or younger.
What vaccinations are required for board and train?
We require your puppy to be healthy, parasite free and have a minimum of two rounds of DHLPP.
What skills, if any, does my puppy need to be considered for the board and train program?
Puppies will need to be comfortable crating at bed time.
Do you guarantee my dog will be fully trained after their board and train?
No, there is no guarantee in animal behavior. We will provide great training during their time with us. It will be critical the training and reinforcement of trained skills continues after they return home.
How many dogs each board and train personal instructor have at once?
Our instructors typically have one to two board and train students in their care at a time. We want to ensure each dog receives plenty of individual training and attention. They stay in the instructors home.
Do I need to bring my dog’s crate?
No, we have crates to use unless your dog is XXL.
What commands will my dog know at the end?
Our Board & Train program is customizable so you can pick and choose what we work on with the guidance of an instructor who can best choose the behaviors your dog needs to work on.
Can we use our own commands?
Yes! You can provide a list of commands for us to use if they are different than what we typically use.
How do we see progress/homework?
You will get daily video uploads of what your dog and the instructor worked on. The instructors are communicative through text, email, and WhatsApp for daily check-in.
Will my dog be left alone?
Board and Train dogs are treated as our own. In general, dogs will not be left alone. There may be times where the instructor needs to run an errand. We do our best to only leave them for a few hours since they are still working on potty training.
What do I need to bring for their time in board and train?
Please bring their bedding, enough kibble for their stay (plus 2 extra days), a written feeding schedule, collar/harness and leash, and anything else your dog would find comforting (toys, chew items, etc).
REFUND POLICY: There are NO refunds once a class or service has been started. If you request a refund 48-hours prior to the start of a group class or private lesson or other services we will refund you minus the PayPal or processing fee of 3.5%.
If Canine Country Academy cancels the class or service you can choose a credit or full refund.
