Mantrailing is an exciting scent-based activity that gives dogs a powerful new way to use their noses to locate hidden people. Similar to Search and Rescue—without the pressure of real-world emergencies—mantrailing strengthens the bond between dog and handler as you work together to follow a human scent trail.
In this 4-hour introductory workshop, you and your dog will learn the fundamentals of mantrailing in a supportive, hands-on environment. We’ll cover how mantrailing works, recommended equipment, and how to begin with simple, successful searches. Dogs will have the opportunity to practice trailing in an urban-style setting.
This workshop is held at our Lawrenceville campus, located at
975 Cripple Creek Dr, Lawrenceville, GA 30043.
Completion of this workshop is required to participate in our ongoing Mantrailing Progression sessions, which take place at local parks and private properties.
Whether you’re looking to enrich your dog’s life, explore additional scent activities, or build teamwork and confidence, this workshop is the perfect place to start.

Paula Nowak is a Certified Mantrailing Global Instructor with a deep passion for helping dogs thrive by doing what they do best—using their noses. She believes that sniffing is not only a natural and joyful activity for dogs but also a powerful way to build confidence, encourage problem-solving, and strengthen the relationship between dogs and their people.
Paula was drawn to mantrailing as a way to give dogs who love scent work an outlet that feels purposeful, enriching, and fun. Through mantrailing, she helps teams work together in a supportive environment where dogs can be dogs and handlers learn to trust their canine partners.
In addition to her work as a mantrailing instructor, Paula is the owner and head trainer of Canine Country Academy, where she focuses on relationship-based training and enrichment that supports both dogs and their humans.
Paula shares her life with her husband and four dogs—three Toy Fox Terriers (Norby, Panzer, and Ahsoka) and a miniature Dachshund (Hondo)—who continue to inspire her love for training, teamwork, and nose-driven adventures.
