Harnesses, Collars, and Leashes
RuffWear Front Range Harness great for dogs 20-lbs and larger. It can be bulky for smaller dogs. We recommend it since it fits well, good range of motion, and has two points of contact.
Freedom No Pull Harness great for dogs who are pullers and would benefit from a harness harder to escape from and have two points of contact.
PetSafe SureFit Harness great for tiny dogs to larger dogs. A mild puller would do well in this simple harness design.
Chai’s Choice Front Range Harness a nice option that is similar to the RuffWear harness.
Lightest Long Line (25ft) – best for small dogs
Long Leash (30ft) – best for medium to large dogs

Natural Calming Aids
Zylkene/Lactium: Zylkene natural milk protein that can help take the edge off. Those I’ve worked with see results in a week to a month and a half. I’ve only had a few who don’t respond at all. Check out this website for more information! Lactium is the human grade version of Zylkene and can often be cheaper. Make sure to talk to your vet before adding either into your dog’s diet.
DAP Collar/Spray or Plug-in: I would recommend using the collar since it will always be with him. The DAP is a Dog Appeasing Pheromone like mom dog that can comfort some dogs. The Adaptil brand is what I recommend, it can be found on Amazon.
Rescue Remedy: The liquid is BACH flower essences for stress, make sure you get the pet version and not the human version. Though the human version does work if you yourself want to try it for yourself!
Through a Dog’s Ear: A great calming cd made specifically with dogs in mind! They also have a variety of desensitizing cds from road noises, fireworks, and city sounds.
ThunderShirt/ACE Wrap : Both use the principles of applying pressure, but the ACE bandage, which you can purchase at many pharmacies and grocery stores, allows for more versatile wraps and is a cheaper alternative. Often with the Thundershirt you also want to desensitize to the sound of the velcro. Make sure to try whichever method before a stressful event so that it does not become a predictor to stress.
Dremel 8050-N (has a light and is high power)
These are toys that are designed to stand up to the tougher chewers.
