Crazy 8, Crazy Fun!

Get ready to level up your Crazy 8s game! Join Sara Beth and your fellow barn hunt enthusiasts for a fun-filled, skill-building workshop designed to help you and your dog shine in this fast-paced, strategy-packed game. In this workshop, we’ll focus on:
- Types of hides – threshold and close vicinity
- Trusting your dog’s instincts
- Building confidence in alerting
- Nailing smooth rat handoffs
This workshop is ideal for teams who already know the rules of Crazy 8s and have some experience playing. If you’re brand new to the game, don’t worry—we’ve got a beginner-friendly workshop soon for you! Ready to level up your rat-hunting fun? Join us for a playful, beginner-friendly workshop that dives into Crazy 8, the fast-paced and action-packed version of Barn Hunt!
In this workshop, you and your dog will:
- Learn the unique rules of Crazy 8 (no worries—we’ll keep it simple!)
- Practice handling multiple rats and complex tunnels
- Build teamwork, confidence, and drive in a fun, supportive environment
- Discover tips and strategies to navigate this chaotic course with a calm mind and a wagging tail
This is the perfect next step if your dog has done Senior or Master level courses and/or always wants more rats.
No prior Crazy 8 experience required—just bring your sense of humor and your hunt-loving hound!
Intro to Barn Hunt Workshop

This 3.5-hour workshop will be part talk and hands-on learning about the sport of Barn Hunt. You will learn how barn hunt got started, and the rules of barn hunt. and how to start competing in the sport. Working dog teams will also get to work in our barn, finding rats, going through the tunnel, and climbing. Those auditing will get to watch teams and learn how to volunteer at events by being a gate steward and wrangler.
Build Confidence in Calling “Clear”

This 4-hour hands-on workshop is designed to help Master level teams (and those preparing for the Master level) feel more confident calling “clear” faster.
For working teams:
- will send in video of a trial experience (if desired) and allow us to use these videos to analyze and discuss during the workshop
- dogs will get to search Master level number of rats (at least 2 runs)
- observe other working teams searching Master level number of rats
- have a video of searches to analyze during the workshop and to download after the workshop
- develop a better understanding of their dog’s body language and communication
